Wine Cellar
Wine Director Dominique DaCruz has been responsible for the overall
direction and buying for the cellar since 1996. Unpretentiously
passionate about wine, his philosophy is evident throughout the
list: glad to be part of the new world wine industry while keeping
a strong emphasis on old world wines.
Wine enthusiasts can spend hours reading the extended wine list,
while the shorter current list offers great new releases and some
classic offerings from the big book. Sierra Mar promotes excellent
wines within a broad range of prices from producers whose wines
may not be household names but are highly sought after within the
industry. From well established, prestigious producers to great,
lower profiled wine makers deserving of attention because of their
passion and product, both wine lists reflect choices with respect
to terroir and a more natural approach to winemaking.

Both agree the stature of the wine list gives them an opportunity
to offer wines with very limited availability to most of the wine
buying public. They are able to buy wine that may only be offered
in a few other restaurants in California and with very little retail
distribution. It's a great chance to educate, promote and have some
fun when offering suggestions.
Sierra Mar has the fortunate distinction of being known for great
cuisine and a world class wine cellar. Since its inception in 1992,
the restaurant has received a vast amount of accolades, awards and
recognition for the depth and uniqueness of the wine program.
